Kindergarten learned about the growth cycle of a pumpkin. Working in groups, they each were assigned a part of the cycle, colored in a picture, and then made it out of Model Magic. We then made a stop-motion video!
Grade 1 has been learning about fiction vs. nonfiction and also began some introductory keyboard games. Next up: a Halloween story and craft to finish out the month.
Grade 2 researched bats using an online database for young readers called PebbleGo. We get this great resource through the Reading Public Library. We then took their research and created an informative "mini-poster" using the iPads.
Grade 3 learned about character traits (as opposed to physical traits). We read Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse and discussed Lilly's character traits. Students then made a list of their character traits which we turned into a word cloud.
Grades 4 and 5 are continuing their work on creating book trailers for the MCBA book they read over the summer. They are learning about safely searching for images, mood and theme in stories, and about choosing pictures and sound that help tell their story.
